If any kind of emergency comes up please try to notify us and we will do our best to help if we can. But sometimes there are emergencies that can’t wait or you want to sort them out on your own. For these cases please find the below numbers that might come useful.

Check-in / Check-out

Check-in: 15:00

We like to welcome you personally and wait for you at the property when you arrive, but in case you will arrive late or we can’t welcome you for any reason, we will place the keys in a key box on the wall next to the front door so you can check in by your self.

It is expected that you let us know your expected check-in time before arrival. Ideally, we would prefer it to be between 3 pm and 8 pm, but if you have a different request, please let us know and we will try to accommodate it.

Check-out: 11:00

If it is possible please leave the apartment by 11.00 am to allow for a tight turnaround / cleaning. However, we are open to free late checkout in case no guests are arriving on the same day. You can drop off your luggage early or leave it in our storage room if you plan to depart later.


You can leave the apartment anytime earlier, if you do, please make sure to close all the windows, and turn off the AC, TV, and other electronic devices. Lock the apartment door and the downstairs hallway door and place the key to the mailbox or key box on the wall.

By Car - Parking

Fern Apartments are located in the pedestrian zone in the very center of Maribor city and there is no parking available in front or at the property.

The closest public parking options are Slomškov trg, Trg generala Maistra, and Gregorčičeva street. Parking is free on weekends but must be paid for from Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm. Rest assured that public parking in Maribor is safe and secure. Payment can be made with coins at the parking machine, and a ticket should be displayed on your dashboard. Alternatively, you can use the Easypark app on your smartphone.

For those who prefer a garage option, City Garažna hiša is approximately 200 meters from the apartment, while Hotel City Parking Garage is 350 meters away and offers a reasonable daily parking rate.

By train

The closest stop is Maribor train station, which is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the apartments. You could use a taxi to transport you closer to the center.

Please note that our property is located in the pedestrian zone and cars are not permitted to drive in front of the property. However, within the pedestrian zone of Maribor city, you can use the free public transportation service called “Maister” to reach any desired destination, including the front door of our apartment building.

By bus

The main Maribor bus station is located just across the street of the Train station and is about the same distance to Fern apartments.

By plane

The nearest airport to your location is Graz Airport in Austria. The next closest options are Letališče Jožeta Pučnika (Ljubljana Airport) and Zagreb Airport, both at a similar distance. The GoOpti (Goopti.com) transport service is commonly used in Slovenia for airport pick-up and drop-off.

Cleaning

Your property will be cleaned before your arrival. If you plan to stay for an extended period or would like to schedule additional cleaning, please let us know in advance so we can arrange a cleaning schedule during your stay. 

 

If any items break, please inform us immediately so we can replace them before the next guests arrive. In the event of any accidents, such as food or hair coloring stains, we would greatly appreciate it if you could leave a note indicating what caused the stain so we can take the appropriate action to remove it.

 

IF A GROUP OF PEOPLE RENTS MORE THAN ONE APARTMENT, WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF HOUSE DECORATIONS AND KITCHEN UTILITIES DO NOT GET EXCHANGED BETWEEN APARTMENTS. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE GLASSES, SPOONS, BOWLS, PANS, PILLOWS, CHAIRS, TABLES, AND BLANKETS TO THE NEIGHBORING APARTMENTS AS THIS WILL CREATE CONFUSION IN THE CLEANING SYSTEM AND INCREASE THE CHANCES OF BREAKING ITEMS OR DAMAGING WALLS. PLEASE BE KIND AND RESPONSIBLE AND TRY TO LEAVE THE APARTMENTS AS YOU FOUND THEM, AND TREAT THEM AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN.

Cooking in the apartment

All the kitchens in Fern apartments are fully equipped! There’s a dishwasher, a fridge, an induction stove, a coffee maker, toaster in every apartment, and in apartments 101, 103, and 104 there is also an electric oven and microwave. Basic cooking essentials such as oil, salt, vinegar, and spices are provided,
and tea, coffee, and sugar are available for your morning ritual. For other groceries,
we suggest visiting nearby grocery stores such as Spar, Mercator, and DM.

Drinking water

We are happy to inform you that the tap water in Maribor is pristine and safe to drink, with great taste and quality. So there is no need for purchasing bottled water. You can enjoy both hot and cold water straight from the tap.

Traveling with kids

If you are traveling with kids, please check the cupboards as there are some toys in every apartment to keep your children entertained.

Sleeping time

For a peaceful night’s sleep, you can close the window blinds. The streets are quiet at night but can be busy early in the morning, so it’s best to keep the windows closed to avoid the noise. If you plan to use the laundry in the hallway please make sure the washing is finished by 10 pm so other guests are not disturbed by the loud sound of the machine.

The Terrace

In the summer, guests are welcome to dine outside on our shared inner yard terrace. As a shared space among guests of the Fern apartments, our terrace welcomes all to stay there and relax.
